Mr. Matthew TAN - Board Member

Matthew is a seasoned semiconductor executive with 30 years of international experience across Malaysia, China, Singapore and the United States. His expertise spans technology development, engineering, quality, customer engagement, sales and business development.

He joined SilTerra in 2000 as part of the pioneer team, contributing to the company’s greenfield wafer fab start-up, factory qualification, technology development and production ramp-up. In 2008, he joined Grace Semiconductor (HHGrace) in Shanghai, China where he led APJ account management and worldwide customer engineering.

Returning to Malaysia in 2013 under the Return Expert Program, Matthew rejoined SilTerra and held several senior leadership positions, including Head of Worldwide Customer Engineering, VP of Quality, VP of Sales and Business Development, and appointed as CEO in January 2026. He initiated SilTerra’s Silicon Photonics program in 2014 and has been instrumental in strengthening the company’s global customer engagement and driving the company’s transformation into a More-than-Moore foundry serving Silicon Photonics, Life Sciences and MEMS markets.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Electronics from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He began his career in 1996 with TECH Semiconductor, a DRAM wafer fab in Singapore.
