Mr. KC ANG - SEMI SEA Regional Advisory Board, Emeritus Advisor

In his role, KC Ang will spearhead our foundry business with a strong focus on operations, innovation, and excellence. He will liaise with customers and ecosystem partners and lead the development of key strategic partnerships to establish Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing as the preferred partner for global and domestic companies seeking high-quality Fab services.

KC is an industry veteran with over three decades of deep experience in the foundry industry, and has worked across Malaysia, Germany, USA and China. He played a significant role at GlobalFoundries, where he served in several different leadership positions, including most recently as President – Asia and Chairman – China, during his tenure spanning about a decade and a half. In his role as Chief Manufacturing Officer, KC was responsible for global manufacturing operations at the Singapore, USA and Dresden sites with a total capacity of approximately 3M wafers. He also successfully led the development of a new 300mm Fab with a capacity of 37 KPM in a record 12 months from groundbreaking to ‘ready for tool move-in’, and 15 months to first wafer yield.

KC’s other achievements include the conversion of a 200mm fab to 300mm and the development of feature-rich technologies on 55nm and 40nm for mobile phones and automotive segments at the Singapore site, and foundry transformation from single product/process to multiple products/processes at the Dresden site. He also achieved many significant milestones in his roles with other companies prior to working with GlobalFoundries.

KC possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University and a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Texas.
