Samivel Krishnamoorthy joined OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in 2009 and was instrumental in engineering the transformation of Asia’s most advanced LED Wafer Fab Facility in Penang, the first of it’s kind for OSRAM. Following which, he is currently spearheading the digitalization initiatives of it’s Assembly & Test Plant. He has championed the introduction and adoption of SEMI standards as de-facto factory integration standard within the organization globally while phasing out legacy data collection sytems within the organization.
He had received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Universiti Teknology Malaysia (UTM). He began his career in SilTerra Malaysia and has 15 years of proven track record in digital manufacturing & industrialization for both semiconductor & opto semiconductor Front End & Assembly & Test operations. Prior to joining OSRAM, he had helped set up the Factory Integration systems for Qimonda Global Module House in Senai and the Pilot Sensor Production line for Infineon Melaka as a Consultant.
Despite being a digital transformer, he is still betwixt and between on how the world at large is embracing digitalization and secretly hopes for more sense and sensibility over how we incorporate machine intelligence into our daily lives while not forsaking the importance of social and emotional intelligence.
