Dr. Lee received his B.S. degree in microelectronic and physics in 1993 awarded by Campbell University, North Carolina, USA, Master of Technology degree in material science in 1996 by University of Malaya, Malaysia, and PhD in semiconductor material research by Multimedia University, Malaysia in 2005. He is holding patent on silicon micro-defect detection and published more than 14 research papers in various international research journals and conferences.
Dr. Lee started his career in Kenmec Technology (M) Sdn Bhd as department head of engineering department in 1993. His responsibility was mainly on the cable television encoder and high frequency splitter improvements and engineering works. He then joined Shin Etsu Handotai (S.E.H Malaysia Sdn Bnd) as R&D engineer, R&D department in 1997. He received Managing Director Awards 3 years consecutively for outstanding performance in the area of silicon defect characterization and silicon wafer quality improvement activities. From 1999 to 2006, he became the head of department of Material Characterization Department, where his primary role was to manage the material characterization lab and R&D into the area of silicon properties, material characterization, and diagnostic techniques. He was also the consultant for material characterization and diagnostic tools such as AFM, SEM, SIMS, Raman Spectroscopy and silicon wafer processing technology.
Dr. Lee also provide consulting works include technical training on silicon properties, silicon substrate processes, cleanroom technology, material characterization techniques, failure analysis on materials and devices, advanced fab processes, IC circuit design and microcontroller programming for engineers in Intel, Infineon, Qualcomm, SilTerra, Fuji Electric, Renesas, Alterra, B.Braun, etc. He has successfully conducted many cleanroom HVAC system training courses to B.Braun, Knowles, STM Johor, Fuji Electric, Silterra, and Adtec.
After working more than 10 years in the semiconductor industries, Dr. Lee decided to leave the corporate world and worked as Associate Professor in Multimedia University to contribute his industrial experiences for training more local engineering talents from 2006 to 2010. He and four other partners with different expertise involved in setting up of a new company to research and develop microcontroller-based products, wireless control technology, audio and video streaming for consumerbased application, security and surveillance systems from 2010 to 2016. He is now as Associate Professor and the Head of Centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research in Tunku Abdul Rahman University College and involves in the planning and execution of smart campus initiative, driving the research and development collaboration on industry 4.0, and agriculture 4.0 related projects with the industries.
